I am envious - though I'm not sure I'm envious - of those about whom one could write a biography, or who could write their own. In these disconnected impressions, I indifferently narrate my factless autobiography, my lifeless history. They are my Confessions, and if I say nothing in them, it is because I have nothing to say.
