If it makes you feel less jealous, I got malaria while I was there, as well as not one but two(!) digestive parasites. I had to take four different types of antibiotics within about a month, ending with ciprofloaxin for the last digestive parasite. This then caused the usual further problems that this kind of course of antibiotics causes, some of which I am actually (if you can believe this) still dealing with today, seven months later.

So, it was a lot of fun. I got great pictures. But there is a downside to living in Africa for two months. :)

Ick. Yeah, I've heard from several people that Africa is a beautiful place but should only be visited after you've seen everything else for above mentioned reasons.

South Africa is supposed to be quite nice. I may be moving out there for six months or so next year.

Well I believe it's supposed to be a lot more developed. Eventually I will make it out to that end of the world!

My goal right now is Peru in the Fall, but we'll see. That is now contingent on the job situation and available vacation time.

Ooh, Llama packing! :) I wanted to go very badly. My next trip is actually to central america, to Costa Rica. Purely vacation fun. I'm looking forward to it.

Excellent! I spent a semester in Chile and have been back once for vacation. I love it down there. This is all pre G. days. He's a bit hesitant about going to third world countries.
