Ahhh! Beautiful books. Thanks. The old, tactile, laid finish paper is wond'rous to behold. I have a monocular telescope with macro that I take to the museum and examine in close detail the books and manuscripts. These shots are as exciting as those visual experiences. The best show was of items from the Morgan Library that came out here to SF several years ago. Lucky you can visit there any time you choose.

Your graffiti pics from a few days ago were great too. I liked the first one best, as well as the blind, bricked window wall before.

This is an 1886 copy of The Scarlet Letter that I picked up for a dollar at the New York Public Library book sale a couple of years ago. The binding isn't in great condition, but it's still got all of the original pages and plates, and I thought it would be good for photographs. :)

I like the texture of the paper.
These remind me of an exhibit I went to a few months ago here in Toronto. It was a show on books.

These are very lovely. I think I like the third one the best. There's something about the grainy feel in the background that just seems right.

Thanks! I actually think I like the third one best as well, the more that I look at them. :)

Scarlet Letter.. what a treasure that you found.. these pictures are all wonderful.. it's very difficult to choose just one.. the way that you've chose to take them really shows all the beauty of books and to read them :)

I go for the first one... super! I like that it focuses on the page's edge and the texture... the farthest away from what it is, and done beautifully

It has dynamics to it too: the pages and in light.

I found your beautiful photography through riah_1977 and if I am allowed, I would love to see more of it. I am beginner photographer looking for inspiration and ideas.
