i like...NEVER subscribe to journals when there are a lot of photos in them because generally, i'm just not interested in other people's pictures unless i actually know them in real life. however, you post BEAUTIFUL pictures and that is the sole reason i'm subscribing. LOL also, if you don't mind, i will be linking to this particular entry because the first image evokes emotion that i want to write about...
my journal is friends only for the same reason you say yours is in your profile. i have granted you access because i have ZERO public entries and there is no other way for you to really get to know me. i will not be offended if you don't grant access in return. i very much understand the need to have a safe place...
p.s. i found you through the /latest feed, by the way. so, sort of stumbled on you. it was that picture of the city that yanked me in...

Thanks for the kind words. :). I have added you back, so you'll be able to see my personal entries too. And I totally don't mind if you link the photo. Look forward to getting to know you
great work, as usual. i like the colors on the first one. it's nice how the city is festive. i'm heading to nyc on wednesday and am excited to see everything again. it's been almost ten years!
i've been in new jersey for the last week visiting emily's family and tomorrow we're going to the city to go to the natural history museum and times square, maybe a carriage ride through central park. touristy things :)
and yes, it's fracking cold out here! we've got 16 degrees with 1 degree wind chill right now in new jersey. it's kind of ridiculous.
Probably especially so compared to Texas! Have fun at the museum - ucan't remember if the extreme mammals exhibit closed, but if not it is definitely worth a visit!!
especially compared to texas! they've got some cold weather there right now but it's still a good 30 degrees warmer than here.
we'll definitely check it out! anything else we should do? is there a good spot you know of that's relatively easy to get to for a good sunset shot of the city?
Hmmm... Do you want the skyline in the photo? If so, I'd say the weehawken ferry in nj. If you don't care about the skyline, maybe riverside park near grants tomb. You can get a shot down the river. My favorite spot is Carl shurtz park, but it's on the east side so the colors are a little more muted - however you can get several bridges and Roosevelt island in your picture.
As far as things to do, what you said sounds great!! Just beware that everything is ridiculously crowded right now. I guess if I were going to recommend anything else, I'd say the lower east side tenement museum. The tours are an hour and they are really interesting.
Oh and there is a rare manuscript exhibition at the morgan library that is supposed to be great, but I haven't made it down there yet to see for myself.
